This week’s real wedding comes from across the pond in beautiful Tuscany! Fellow Charlestonians, and avid Clemson fans, Peter and Jessica, wed in the hills of Lucca, Italy. With friends living all over the United States, the couple decided to have a destination wedding week where they could spend personal time with the guests. The property they selected, Casale de Pasquinelli, allowed all 50 guests to be under one roof. The week was filled with day trips, cooking classes, wine tours, and even an authentic pizza party for the rehearsal dinner.
The décor was a blend of Tuscan elegance with mixes of Southern flair, as many of the guests hailed from South Carolina. Ali worked with Glenda Marradi of II Girno Perfetto and Gabriele Pasquinelli, owner of Casale de Pasquinelli, in Italy, to bring to life the design board Ali used to execute Jessica’s vision. The couple was able to use their life experiences, and love for travel, to bring their closest friends together for a fun-filled wedding week.
The evening was a magical night under the stars where guests dined on a traditional Italian dinner, including an authentic Italian wedding cake. Dancing to the local DJ Pink Panther, there was never a dull moment as the Clemson Flag hailed in the background.
Jessica has some advice for brides-to-be, whether planning a destination wedding adventure or one right here in Charleston: “Keep it simple, cut down on your invite list, keep it personal, don’t try to “one-up” every wedding you’ve been to, relax and keep in mind what really matters, and make sure you have plenty of champagne!”
